There is due to be an increase in cases of RSV bronchiolitis as well as other virally induced paediatric respiratory illnesses this Autumn & winter. 

 

As part of the Regional and Trust preparations we have been working with the ED and Paediatric teams to plan for a surge in local cases. This plan includes usage of adult Critical Care services to support children as required when retrieval by KIDSNTS is not possible due to PICU capacity.
